Smudging of these pencils gets you a painterly like effect.Īdd some watercolor to get the flesh tone a little lighter and darker in their respective areas. Take the Smudge tool and wherever you feel it’s too much pencil, smudge that area. If it’s all planes, it makes the image really flat. Where the light hits is the direction and the planes constitute its shadows. Light and shadows help to know the planes or the direction of the face. The corners of the mouth are even with the pupils of the eye and the bottom of the ear is usually about even with the bottom of the nose.
